The Roby Family

Several weeks ago we received an invitation from the Kulkin’s to an adult only Halloween costume party at their home.  I don’t know the last time I dressed up for Halloween and the idea of donning a costume was quite daunting.  We ran through multiple characters that might include pregnancy and weren’t liking any of the ideas.  In the last year and a half Jenny & I have taken quite a liking to AMC’s Mad Men and we decided to dress as the lead characters, Don & Betty Draper.

Jenny did quite a bit of research on the characters and made sure we were ready to rock.  Jenny went blonde for the evening and I wore contacts for the first time in my life.  We had a great time playing dress up.

PSS:  The boys hate Jenny as a blonde and begged for her to be orange again.

For several weeks the boys have given us hints about what they want to “be” for halloween.  We have heard everything from alligators & crocodiles to robots & Spiderman.  We traveled to several stores earlier this week and after much discussion finally selected a cowboy costume for Jacob and a Thomas the Tank Engine costume for Jefferson.  Tonight we dressed them up and headed down to the Oklahoma Aquarium for their annual HallowMarine event.  The event attracts hundreds from across the area and has carnival games, inflatables and candy booths.  The boys had a wonderful time and were adorable in their costumes.
