Christmas Eve 2009

About a week ago the local news was on in the background and I distinctly remember a weatherman saying the chances of a white Christmas in Oklahoma are near zero and we wouldn’t be enjoying one this year. Well congratulations Dan, Frank, Travis or whatever the heck your name was you were wrong! We aren’t enjoying a white Christmas, we’re fighting a blizzard Christmas! We have a good foot of snow in most places around the house and who knows what the night holds. Our goal is to make it to OKC/Norman/OKC Christmas Day. Let’s hope Santa brings a whole lot of sunshine down our chimney tonight.

The boys have been great about staying out of their presents (kinda, sorta, maybe) so, as is tradition in our family we let them open one on Christmas Eve. They also had one last chance to beg Santa for good gifts, no matter how random they are.

We hope you had a wonderful Christmas Eve!

A Visit With Santa Claus

Saturday evening we attended LifeChurch.tv, ate dinner, then headed to Bass Pro Shops for a visit with Santa Claus.  Bass Pro Shops offers a free sitting with Santa and a free 4×6 photo to commemorate the occasion.  When we pulled into the parking lot we knew we could be in a for a long wait.  Luckily, Bass Pro Shops does a great job of organizing the line and providing toys & entertainment to keep the kids, big & small, occupied.  They had a laser gun shooting range, nerf crossbow shooting range, RC trucks & a slot car racetrack.  After about an hour waiting we finally made it to see Santa.  The boys wouldn’t tell me what they told Santa, but I’m sure whatever gifts they requested will show up under the tree come Christmas morning.
