I’ve wanted a pair of boots for a few years now. Â I’d window shop here and there but being the cheapskate I am I never had the gusto to pull the trigger. Â Well, then the Cowboy Boot Christmas of 2010 arrived. Â Jenny, Judah and I were doing a little Christmas shopping and ran across a boot sale. Â See, Jenny loves boots and is always game to try on a new pair, so a boot sale is quite the siren song. Â At my urging, she tried a few pair on but with it being Christmas and all didn’t purchase a pair. Â The next day I snuck over and snatched up a pair of the “cowboy” boots she tried on as an early Christmas gift:
Apparently I started something. Â A few days before Christmas I find out my mother sent my brother, Jordan, to pick out a pair of cowboy boots for his Christmas gift:
Then came Christmas morning. Â Inside a small, unassuming package from my mother I find cash and a ransom note reading, “If you don’t use this cash to buy cowboy boots quick-like I’ll find a pair of concrete boots for your feet.” or something along those lines. Â Never one to take kindly to concrete boots I began shopping the day after Christmas. Â Jenny, Jacob, Judah and I spent two hours at Sheplers on Sunday, followed by the whole family spending two hours each at Cavender’s and Drysdales. Â After trying on countless boots and a more than a few pair of jeans (apparently I don’t buy jeans that are long enough…) I settled on a pair of boots from the Justin Boots Bent Rail Collection and a pair of jeans from the Wrangler Retro Collection from Cavender’s.
Needless to say I’m now a proper rhinestone cowboy and can finally take Jenny to a Gary Allan or Randy Rogers Band concert.
